We placed our orders for tea, coffee or bubbles and were seated while our food was prepared. Not long after our drinks were served platter after platter, plate after plate began to line the buffet table with everything from Jane's perfect home made chicken and mushroom or chunky steak and cheese pies to soft egg or chicken sandwiches, asparagus rolls and a creative mexican prawn tortilla delight.
Jane officially welcomed us, sharing that this space has been a dream in the making for more than 19 years - 19 years of refinement of the vision for what is today I am sure.
The sweets were delicately prepared by their talented Le Cordon Bleu trained patisserie chef and included berry and dark chocolate macarons with just the right amount of berry punch in the centre. We were spoilt for choice gazing upon plates of gorgeous opera cake, strawberry mousse or lemon curd eclairs to choose from.
It's safe to say that not one of us left hungry. Jane made sure we were taken care of and it made for a fun, cozy, elegant and delicious afternoon. We can't wait to come back - maybe next time to try out the cocktail list!
