Our High Tea experience at Lola Rouge, nestled in the chic Naumi Hotel Wellington, was a delightful afternoon with some standout moments.
We were fortunate to be seated in the private Red Room, which added an intimate and cozy touch to our event for our group of 8. The room's vibrant décor and secluded ambiance made it a special setting, offering privacy while still being part of the lively atmosphere of Lola Rouge where other groups had also gathered to enjoy the Lola Rouge High Tea offering.
The service was attentive and the wide selection of teas was a lovely complement to the food. The overall High Tea presentation was up to the beautiful patisserie standard we have come to expect from Lola Rouge and the variety of flavours were enjoyable.
The highlight of the savoury selection for me was undoubtedly the lamb shoulder on saffron roti—a tender, flavourful dish that was both comforting and unique. On the sweet side, the lychee and rose choux was a perfect ending, with its delicate floral notes and light cream filling. It’s these standouts that we’ll remember most fondly - these dishes encapsulated the innovative fusion of flavors that Lola Rouge aims to deliver.
In summary, Lola Rouge offers a pleasant High Tea experience in a vibrant space, particularly if you’re lucky enough to enjoy it in the Red Room. The memorable dishes and unique setting made for an afternoon well spent.
